Depression Supporters Support Group
This community is dedicated to spouses, children, relatives, co-workers and others who are actively supporting someone suffering from depression or other serious mental illness. Depression can bring about intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive, which can have a grave impact on the ability of others trying to help.
The most important thing is, like you said, to do your thing. You have to keep a certain distance to not be dragged down yourself. Even if the distance is only mental. I've had to learn that because whatever my friend was doing or saying was ruling my life.
Again at least I don't live with him, I hope you find places you can breathe our for a moment.
I think it's great both of you are going to therapists. We need support to have the energy to keep supporting them.
