The most direct thing would be to take them to him. It's a bit abrupt, but sometimes necessary. Careful, though. My mum is the same. She has been out of hospital for almost two months and was almost back to herself and now she has stopped taking her medication for the second time. tell him that if he doesn't take his meds then u will kick him out i used to get off of my meds in the summer and i used to go really crazy and i realized it doesn't make sense to put urself thru hell just bcuz u don't like medication so i stay on my bipolar meds

Have your tried to find out why he doesn't take his meds? I know for me this lastest round is because of a weight issue (granted girl issue). It got to a point I was depressed because I was taking my meds but couldn't stop gaining over 30lbs. I'm not lazy walk 4 days a week over 40 miles total. My pdoc wouldn't help so I'm in search of another. I had a choice to be misserable and fat or misseriable and try to lose some weight. Double edge sword. Before it was habit of taking them. They were never where I needed them to be. I got that figured out now but rather be misserable and lose some of the lb's I've gaid then to be happy and not stop gaining.

Maybe approach it in the following way "I'm trying to understand what it is about taking medication is so difficult". I bet it'snot not his bi-polor meds he stuggles with but any prescription.
