My Mom never shuts up! The only relief and peace I get is the 3 hours/night she sleeps and when I'm at work. She has a list of 12 questions that she wants answers to and she asks them over and over. ( Over 1/2 of them are fears she has that are not even true, but there's no convincing her of that! Sure you know what I mean! By the time she gets to question#12, she starts all over again and this just goes on constantly... over and over again...every waking moment. Reminds me of an old record when the needle got stuck! What even makes it worse is that when I answer her ,she starts yelling about I'm lying! I'm not! I've written the answers down for her, tried buying her special notebooks...written each question and the answer... even made posters with the answers and hung them around the house! Makes no difference! Tried deflecting her questions and changing the subject...no go! No one else in the family comes around anymore, won't even talk to her on the phone because it's the same thing over and over and no one can ever reassure her or calm her, so they've all checked out! Now it's all me, all the time and it's really driving me crazy! This has been going on for 3 years now!Her Dr. won't qualify her for a home and even I don't think she really needs to be in one!She can be very nice to others, but to me she is nasty and is driving me crazy! I understand we caregivers get the worst, but how do I cope with her constant questions, badgering, accusations? Fell like its my duty as her daughter but I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown!

I WAS going to suggest the idea of writing the answers/questions down but since that didn't work-lets see what else I can suggest...have you tried ignoring her at times? Turning on the tv or radio and just keep poiinting out to her that you're watching or listening to it and you have already answered the question or you don't know the answer?

I don't know if it would work but how about doing what four year olds do. Every time she asks a question ask her why. Why doesn't xxx visit, you say why, because I haven't seen them, you say why etc. Just hoping to save your sanity.

Sounds like mom has extreme anxiety. Can you secretly video or audio record these conversations? You could show that to the doctor. Of course mom would have to be willing to take the medication. Something simple like an anti-anxiety could probably work wonders.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
