2. How has your suffering/condition(s) changed your life?
3. What blessings came about in your life as a result of your suffering/condition(s)?
my answers:
From my back that would be Jan 06 I was healed from the surgery and my back pain subsided. Now the muscle atrophy makes the muscles hurt since they are just about dead. But the surgery saved me from a lifetime of nerve pain.
I have committed my life to giving back to society what I was given by being in pain. Compassion, love, understanding, and most of all my three adult sons understand what compassion is. A feat for men so young.
Pink and I are a stronger couple, we are one. Our children are all great human beings. I have met 1000's of wonderful people all over the world. People I would crawl over glass to help and who would do the same for me.
Ouch
2. I now travel with pain meds and a TENS unit everywhere I go. I am always juggling appointments. I spend a lot of time and money to manage the pain.
3. The pain has made me more compassionate towards others because I saw the way it affected me. I'm usually a warm person but there were days when I was totally out of character. So I cut others some slack. Also it has reminded me how lucky I am to have my husband. It has strengthened our relationship. I used to think that if you had goals, one day you would reach them and have this feeling of complete happiness. Instead I have realized life is not a to-do list and though we may have the things we always wanted, there are also going to be things in our life we wish werent there. We have to take each day for what it is, focus on the good and be thankful. The person who seems to have it all may actually be suffering in other ways.
2. I have learned the art of patience. When you have a chronic disease, no matter what it is, you learn quickly that things just don't happen over nite. You have to wait for tests, test results, to see the doctor and so on. So patience for me is a good thing. I use to be the "road rage queen".
I have always felt blessed, because of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And even through all the pain I have He carrys my burden for me. I will never be able to repay him for that. My dh has become such a help to me. He has become my best friend and my biggest fan. I truly am a blessed woman.

my answers:
1. December 2006
2. It has made me slow down more so than I want to admit. Every day is something new to figure out.
3.It made me slow down. I was truly on the go 24/7. I was always doing so much. Now, I get to slow down, breathe and enjoy things at a better pace. It has made me learn to ask for help. Something I am still working on daily. My hubby and I talk daily about everything now. Even if it just about something small I saw or I felt that day.... we listen deeper now.
How about you? Try answering these questions... :)

2.How has your suffering/condition changed your life??
It makes me much more depressed it makes me very irriatable which makes my moods go all over the place. When I'm in severe pain it controls my day.
3. What blessings came about in my life as a result of my suffering/condition?
Nothing yet, except more dr. visits with my hunk of a dr. hospital er bills, hospital stays for pain mngt... Nothing positive...
2.the changes are learning not to always talk about my pain when someone asks... how are you. because the pain is a big part of my life. I have understanding of who my real friends are. and I am learning the motto if it's going to be... it's up to me, since help is lacking in my home.
3. I have learned to be thankful for the least amount of help, and learned how to hug or shake the hand of someone who is in pain. I look for opportunities to do a kindness to someone in need. I trust God for my strength and daily supply of necessity and joy. and am thankful for my dearest friend who recommended this site.
2. Lost my job after last surgery I was a liability. No longer can walk any distance or stand. I doing things based on how much pain I am in then I usually overdue it I guess I just don't learn. I now don't anywhere with my meds and spinal cord stimulator programmer and a puzzle book when I can take anymore walking I sit in car and work Sudoku puzzles. Getting pretty good..
3. Family has been my blessing they have been there though everything. After losing my job applied for Disability now awaiting appeal process now almost 2 years. Sisters have been supporting me in everyway including paying for my COBRA I couldn't ask for family better than I have now. I have cried on their shoulders so much not to mention throwing up on them from all the pain meds. I don't think I could of gotten this far with out them.
Honestly,.... my first back injury was when i was about 6, since then i have slowly developed ddd....so my last pain free day was 43 yeas ago
