Platelet Count

First let me say that I usually have a platelet count ranging in the 120's for about 4 years or more, due to being on a drug for Leukemia. It also has made me anemic with low RBC.
Now since I started on Warfarin, my platelet count has come up to 196. This is the first complete blood work I have had since starting on my Warfarin. Just got my INR back, and that was 1.7, therefore, had to get my Warfarin adjusted again this week. I have been holding at 2 on my INR.
I just thought it was odd that this happened, and wondered if the Warfarin caused it. Does anyone have any knowledge of this.

Before having the DVT one year ago, my platelet count was always close to the maximum of 450, but while still on warfarin, my last CBC showed a platelet count of little over 500, which is high;
I didn't have the chance to talk to the cardiologist yet as of what would be the cause and now I am really worried because I am 10 days since I stopped the warfarin.

Thank you so much for your reply. That is interesting how yours was running. Everyone is telling me that the platelets would have dropped rather than rise. I am well within range, and I will just see how they are at my next blood draw.
We do tend to get concerned over every little thing, but I have to keep in mind that lab results can change very quickly. You can get a draw today with one reading, and then get another a day later with a completely different reading. I am sure your okay.
