Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Natural cures is there such a thing?

Having luck here with some nontraditional therapies. I can't say on this site because people here seem to prefer to stick with the accepted drug regimen and they make fun of me. I'd share anything with anyone outside of this site but it's too unpleasant here, seems noone likes a rebellious patient. One thing I'll say is that extending the arms forward holding a floatation noodle and kicking your legs fairly hard, up and down the pool like at least 4-5 laps seems to work something I'm not sure but it seems to keep away the pts and may be therapeutic for the overall circulation. I'm a on warfarin forever. I hope those here with new and/or recurrent dvts get better soon. I have no clue what I did to get a reprieve. Maybe the squats or the swimming? People here taught me to be patient, I'm very grateful especially to those that kept up on accrurate research and didn't let others to be misled by my inane stupidity on these dvt subjects.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm sorry it's not pleasant for you to post here. I am one of those people who called you out on some of your posts. It wasn't because you were stupid or that I didn't care about your situation or that I was trying to be an asshole. In fact, the last time I commented on one of your posts, it was with regard to pain and I'd asked you what you planned on doing about your pain because it was not something you needed to live with. You never responded. I also recall asking you once if you were depressed. I wasn't asking to be snarky; you just sounded so deeply down in one of your posts. Again, you never responded. So, people have reached out to you. I think you're so wrapped up in your head that you don't want to hear certain things. I don't know you so I can't say that for sure, but that's my perception.
Also, sometimes, your posts sounded like you were trying to convince people that their lives were going to be nothing but misery from now on. That's FALSE. So, I often tried to counter that by stressing that not everyone had this much hardship with their DVT situation. Like many of us, I almost dropped dead from my DVT due to the massive PEs is caused in both my lungs and still, life is fanfreakingstastic despite the long, difficult recovery from both the PE and the DVT. It hurt, it was scarey, it took a long time to recover and I was still ok.
Personally, I don't care what people do with regards to treatment. If someone thinks standing on their head facing east will make them feel better, have at it. If someone wants to stop warfarin and take something herbal, go ahead. But I will jump in when I feel like someone is not providing accurate information or suggesting that proven medication is going to ruin their lives forever.
It sounds like you found some exercises that help you. That's great. Exercising, moving, keeps the circulation going, the blood pumping. I have PTS and it peaked badly last year, but this year, it's gotten better. In fact, I've experimented with not wearing stockings over the last several months and I am doing well. Doesn't mean the symptoms won't come back, but sometimes, stuff just gets better.
Lastly, my comments to you in the past had absolutely nothing to do with you perceiving yourself to be rebellious. Personally, I like hell raisers. Truly rebellious people don't give a shit what other people think about them and they carry on despite opposition. If that's the case, I don't understand the nature of this passive aggressive post.
If you want to bring up the subject of Natural Cures again, just do it, and don't be so coy.
People on this site disagree all the time. I disagree with YOU 99.999% of the time, but one time I DID agree with you (I know, I was shocked too!) This Nobody-loves-me-everybody-hates-me act is juvenile. Say what you want, and be prepared for responses, be they good or not exactly what YOU want to hear.
If it works for you, do it, but don't force people to believe you without any proofs is all people are asking.
The exercise you are describing seems like something YOU would enjoy doing, I guess it is the equivalent to running in circle with your arms up in the air and yelling, loooooooooooook at me, pay attention to meeeeeeeeee...
But, it's exercise...That is what really counts, I guess.
On the other hand, I can offer my personal experiences with the world of herbs. Turns out the immune building herbs I used to take probably worsened my Antiphospholipid Syndrome (which I didn't realize I had), increasing my clot risk and the severity of my migraines, and worsened my asthma. Oh, and I can't forget the life-threatening allergic reaction to Goldenseal. That was a fun one. I had to take lots of Prednisone (want to discuss nasty side-effects?). I have been warned against any non-doctor approved "natural cures". My system is screwed up enough without using myself as a guinea pig.
That is what's right for ME. What's right for YOU may be different and it's your choice. It's my choice to obey my doctor. I have no problems with any of your suggestions except that potential adverse effects aren't mentioned. I fear that people may read posts and maybe check out the supplement-sponsored websites with their faulty and usually mis-represented research and stop their research there. If, after being presented with ALL the information they choose to go a different route, that's fine. It's their right. I just feel that I should share information that maybe contradicts your views so everyone can make informed decisions. If there is well-conducted research refuting what I find, by all means, let me know.
Newbies come here to learn from others' experiences. That's what made me join this group. One of the first posts I read was one of yours about the evils of warfarin. As someone who was just discharged from her second hospitalization with little information from the doctors, giving myself twice daily injections, starting warfarin and having a community nurse checking on me daily, I was a little freaked out. The church ladies and my husband acting like I was on my deathbed didn't help much either. :- )Luckily others responded to the post and calmed my fears. Since I am now also a warfarin lifer, I find the positive experiences of the long-term members to be empowering.
I know it's not a perfect drug. I personally find my unstable INR to be a real pain. Seems like sneezing makes it soar or dive. For now, it's the safest option and with 2 kids and a husband who doesn't want me to check out, it's my option of choice.
Your exercise sounds like a great low-impact option. My doctor recommended a similar routine. I prefer to swim laps though. My kids steal the noodle :-)
