These are different types of blood clotting disorders. Most of the time it is best to test once you're off thinners. Warfarin can affect the results of at least the antithrombin test, I believe.

I'm not sure coping is the right word. Most of us just have more experience now. I'm 12 years out, so I have gotten used to living with FVL and MTHFR. I've been tested for everything, clotted on Coumadin, and am a lifer on lovenox. But...I have had quite a lot of time to deal with my life. You'll eventually get used to the routine, and learn to live with it.

Yeah I agree. Some of us have just had more time under our belt so we can let stuff sort of roll off of us. But I agree about asking questions. The information may help your mind work through things.

I think too that some of us who've had PEs come from a different perspective. We're just happy we didn't die so anything that comes at us seems like small stuff in comparison.

In the end though, it's just lab work. Bing bang boom, you're done. and your life continues.

I had to have these, too. After I tested + for FVL, he wanted to make sure I didn't have any other clotting disorders so he could determine how long to keep me on warfarin.

I was diagnosed with antiphosiphid antibodies 20 years ago. The way they found it was something came back goofy after I donated blood for a surgical procedure.

I was treated wit a baby aspirin and it worked til 10 month ago. I just wish they would have given me some warning signs. I was told by 4 doctors that I am on warafin for life because of the antiphosiphid antibodies.
