Last time when I had svt (superficial vein thrombosis) It showed as a my left foot being red & hurting. It took a took a while to get dx as was told oriiginally that it was cellulitis. last night my leg at the front lower shin (?) was very red & sore. I have had a massive bruise on the inside of the leg for a few days. Now I have small bruises on outside of leg, red patch on front of leg & the big bruise is yellow. All in one patch of the leg. My foot feels like it is on fire but is only a little redder than normal. The big toe on same foot has been red & swollen for a few days now (which I just thought was an infection or banged it).
Just thinking maybe I should get it checked since it is like all the one patch on leg? Any ideas or suggestions? Am I on the wrong track - I would love to be.

I cant believe its happening now as I have diverticular disease & gp thinks it is diverticulitis so seeing specialist on Thursday. I dont need anything else now.

My DVT dx started out as cellulitis for about a month before the doc finally said will lets get an ultrasound. I had red spot on the top of my foot and the side. Very hot and fiery, painful.

I am not a Dr. but from what I understand you have every right to be very concerned. A superficial thrombosis could lead to a more serious thrombosis (clot), which might explain many of your symptoms with the exception of the bruising but bruising or trauma can certainly bring about a clot. I would certainly not risk it especially with what I know now. It's better to be too cautious than to take a wait and see with approach with DVT. Hoping you have good news on Thursday.

My DVT started with a SVT and it went from red and inflamed to very bruised looking (browny black not purple) and 2 months later it is fading but still "bruised" looking.

Thanks for your replies. I went to gp today & got another weird answer. Maybe my blood isnt clotting & thats cusing the bruises. More blood tests & depending on that a vascula surgeon...WTF?? I dont need surgery I just need it to be checked. Left foot is now burning feeling even when not red & front of leg is still red along with bruises on both feet.
I think I am just going to ignore it unless I cant walk. So fed up with it all along with everything else too.
