heparin and preterm labor

I was just wondering if heparin can cause preterm labor? Just a rumor I heard and wanted to see if it could be true.

I was checked into the hospital 72 hours prior to being induced. I was switched from Lovenox in the hospital to low-molecular weight heparin in IV form. I did not go into pre-term lablor. Everything for my induction went according to schedule.

However, while I was experiencing DVT symptoms three weeks prior to my induction I was having contractions and given procardia to stop pre-term labor.

My labor went terrific and I was so nervous because I had just had a DVT three weeks prior to my induction.

Thanks for sharing your story, Pam. It's encouraging to hear. I have had two DVTs (not while prego) but hope to get pregant in the next year or two, so it's enouraging to hear about sucessful ones.
