If you had bleeding around your brain, it would be the worst headache you've ever had in your life. Every description I've ever read of it makes it sound absolutely crippling and like its being hit over the head with a hammer.

At this point, it is totally possible that your anxiety over it is making it worse. When I get tense, my shoulders tense up and I start getting aches and pains up the sides of my neck and the sides of my head. It's good advice to wait and see if it gets worse before another CT. If it responds to Tylenol, I would think its just some residual damage from conking yourself.

Aneurysm is a localized, blood-filled balloon-like bulge in the wall of a blood vessel, and this can happen everywhere in the body, including brain. The risk is that with increasing size of the bulging vein, it can rupture and thus cause bleeding. On the other hand intracranial (brain) bleeding can take place following a impact on the head (and those with aneurysm are especially at risk). Like mentioned previously then intracranial bleeds produce very bad headaches. I understand your anxiety considering that xarelto has not antidote. There is some evidence to suggest that MRI is equally as effective as CT scan in detecting intracerebral hemorrhage. The advantage of MRI is that they do not use radiation like the CT. Maybe this is something to explore further..

JB, I whacked my head (while on lovenox) a few years ago on a wood beam on our porch. It hurt like crazy when I did it, almost fell off our porch from the impact, saw stars for a bit, had a big knot and bruise right above my forehead. I had a moment where I really thought, am I ok? I had a headache on and off the whole day, but it wasn't the excruciating headache described as typically accompanying a brain bleed. I think if after two weeks you don't have that kind of headache, where it just cripples you, then you're likely ok. The headaches you describe sound tension related, as Toss mentioned.

But of course, if it's still concerning or it's not getting better, definitely check with your doctor.

I went back to my primary Wednesday ,and he was out so the covering physician listened to my symptoms and think I have a sinus infection. He wants me to have an MRI of my head though as a precaution. So today my ear is swollen red and my head is killing me. My neck is tender and swollen under my ear, I'm guessing lymph nodes. The pain feels like I have a deep zit in my ear and on my head, and there is pressure. I'm debating going to Patient First tonight, but definitely going to call doctor tomorrow. It just hurts so bad. I'm guessing the good news is that confirms it's an infection, the bad news is I'm miserable until I get an antibiotic tomorrow. Thanks again guys. Sorry to freak out.

I've had a bad sinus infection or two in my time. They are miserable beyond belief! Hope you get it under control and start feeling better soon!
