Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Hi all!
As some of you know, I've been a part of this group since I experienced my own DVT in my leg in April of 2008. Though I'm happily now mostly recovered (aside from the joys of ongoing PTS), I continue to love visiting this forum whenever I'm able. The advice, suggestions, information, care and overall community has always been a fabulous resource to me and I am so very grateful to be a part of it!
Over the last year, a few people have inquired why I travel so much and until now I've never been able to say. At last, I'm so excited to share with you the news I've been keeping to myself for the last year!
After my own personal experience with a blood clot & wearing compression stockings, I (as so many others) became totally exasperated by how ugly & frumpy many of the options available to support stocking wearers are. Since I'm only in my early 20s, I knew that I'd have to wear these things most the remainder of my life because of my PTS & wanted more fun options for more people like me. Likewise, because I suffered my blood clot form using a birth control pill (& flying) I wanted to help educate more women on PREVENTATIVE actions they can take to avoid getting in my position in the first place. Too many of my friends & younger women are totally oblivious to the importance of their leg health & how they can proactively protect it.
Because of that desire, I took action and now I'm thrilled to share a new support stocking option available via my company, RejuvaHealth, LLC. We've found a way to apply fun, colorful, funky fashion patterns to compression stockings - enlivening them in ways never before seen. We literally spent months developing this new pattern-application process (and I also travelled around the world to find the people & resources to do it!) The best way to describe is to just let you see, so if you have interest, you're welcome to directly visit the new website at www.rejuvahealth.com.
RejuvaHealth's support stockings currently have a Class I FDA registration - this class is for medical support & general purposes only. It is intended for lighter applications, such as relief of discomfort, swelling, leg tiredness & occupational-related standing fatigue (great for those of us further along in our recovery process or now just wearing for preventative reasons).
Anywho, so sorry to blab on so long, but wanted to make this available to any of those that may be like me & further in their recovery =) Of course, if you do see something that catches your eye & is appropriate for your needs, please use the promo code STRENGTH15 to get a 15% discount - want to be sure the DS family is taken care of =). Thank you all again for all of your support & inspiration over the last 3 years & cheers to more fun & uplifting treatment options for us in the future!

Look at what my best friend did with my picture!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I too need a higher compression though, so I'm stuck with the orthopedic looking stockings, but at least there is some progress being made on the fashion front.
Good luck to you!
