Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Hi all,
I am new here- was diagnosed with a dvt and pe following the birth of my son (through c-section) in mid april. It was discovered a couple days after my d/c from the birth so I was subsequently admitted for one night to be given lovenox and discharged on eliquis. Been on eliquis for over three weeks now and although my breathing/heart rate seems to be better my leg seems to be feeling worse. I was told the dvt is in my right calf (tibial vein), but recently I’ve been having twitching and muscle tightness throughout the whole leg (calf to hamstring). I did go for a long walk the other day, but this still seems strange to me. I had another ultrasound done yesterday and they were unable to find any blood clots in that leg - not even the one that was initially diagnosed. I am told it’s rare for blood clots to grow/new ones to form on blood thinners, but then why are my symptoms worsening? Also- is it possible my dvt dissolved in just over three weeks? My pcp is reviewing the records and told me to heat treat my leg for now but seems very unconcerned about my symptoms. Thanks in advance for any insight you all can provide! Very anxious about all this and overwhelmed to be dealing with a newborn, c section healing, a dvt and a pe all at the same time.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Hang in there!
