Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Heck it is their job to know the interaction of drug-drug. Sometimes the Dr does not know of the drugs we take.
Take care...
My primary is exceptional at checking on drug interactions with warfarin and I always let her know if one of my other doctors has put me on something (I've seen a lot of specialists) and we usually agree on an INR draw schedule if there is a possibility of an interaction.
I also always check with the pharmacist when I pick up the medicine. I make them pull up the list of everything I am taking and then specifically ask if the new drug will interact with any of them ... especially the warfarin.
Anyway ... love pharmacists ... love my primary ... but sometimes you still have to stay on top of making sure you're not doing anything to compromise your health.
The pharmacist made a much bigger deal out of it. I personal don't like this pharmacist being she wasn't proactive with calling doctor right away to get a different antibiotic prescript she wanted me not to take any antibiotic which is a much bigger deal to me. I don't have an immune system to fight that type of bug and if you let the bug take over it is a much longer fight for me could lead into Kidney infection.
There is also a search engine I checked out a long time ago that can look up interactions. i think it's called Pillbox? Keep in mind, it's just an internet database!
Hope your trip goes well.
