Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
ML stands for a medium-sized calf circumference.
IMO, the kind of "compression" you get from a Walgreens or over-the-counter stocking is not enough to prevent further damage to your veins.
You need at least 20-30 compression and you can get that from very expensive specialty places in your town, or you can have them shipped online for less from HealthyLegs.
I AM NOT affiliated with the site. I got this info when I went to one of the best vein specialists in Colorado back in 2011. I have become accustomed to wearing a stocking--but my healing is also amazing. This IS NOT a life sentence--you just need to do compression early on and also start exercising and eating right.
