I've begun going to the gym, and one of the possibilities is exercise in the chlorinated pool. I think it would be good for me, but I can imagine my support stockings would be damaged by the chlorine pretty quickly.
At the same time, I don't want to go that long without my stockings (an hour +).
Am I worrying unnecessarily?

Not sure 100% .
BUT I think that the pressure from being in the water acts as enough compression to replace your comp sock, so I would not worry about wearing it while you are swimming.
Anybody else on the topic?

Yeah you do not have to wear your stocking in the pool. I was told that the pool is a great way to work out after DVT. I have never worn mine in the pool, and I have not had any swelling from working out in the pool either. I hope that helps!

Keep in mind that gravity affects you different ways when you are in the water. I would not expect your legs to swell at much (or at all) when you are floating or swimming. Also, as dero said, the water does some compressing too.
