I'm hypothyroid and have been taking levothyroxine for many years. I have not had to adjust the levo. dose since I have been taking warfarin though. Hope you get it sorted out.

I think part of the reason your not at a stable INR yet is the change in your thyroid meds, but also, sometimes it just takes a while to get stable regardless of the meds you take.

But you're right, so many medications do interact, so it's a matter of testing your INR more often as dosages change for the other meds you're on. I've been on the same med for another health issue for several years now, and had to up the dosage this summer, and my INR did get a little wonky after the new dose kicked in. So my doc just adjusted my warfarin to compensate.

Yeah, it'll take a little while to get things stable with the warfarin, especially if you're adjusting the doses of other drugs.

I was on and off antibiotics a year or so ago because of sinus issues. Most of those interact with warfarin so my numbers were hard to control for a while.

The thing is, if you take one dose of something constantly, your warfarin can be adjusted to deal with that. That's very common and it just takes a little trial and error to get it right. It is completely possible to take both meds at the same time and to be healthy and have the right dosages.

Hang in there! Getting the doses right takes time, but it will happen.

I was dx with hypothyroidism AFTER I came off coumadin, so i can't help you with the interaction Q. I'd get your doctors (and/or pharmacist) talking to each other to figure out the quickest route to a balance that works.
