Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
My brother-in-law asked me the other day if I am able to scuba dive with them. I don't do it anyway, but I like to snorkle and sometimes surface dive.
Does the pressure from flying in airplanes and scuba diving contribute to more problems, or is he fear of flying solely due to immobility on planes?

I know someone on the PE board who went back to SCUBA diving after consulting with a physician. It's going to depend on the extent of any damage to lungs and heart, if the clot is resolved etc.
I don't see why you can't snorkle but I think consulting with your doc about activities is probably the way to go. I think some of this depends on how far out a person is from their diagnosis.
I was thinking of going on a trip and was thinking of getting my diving ticket, and that (above) was the answer I got frome her. She did not have to thinking about it for long, she also dives herself.
