Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Hi has anybody had Abnormal Liver results from a DVT blood test to find out the cause of why you had a DVT in the first place?
I'm not sure about this because my Dr states there is no relation and now I have repeated the blood test with no abnormalities...
I had a bad DVT while travelling to India last summer and was diagnosed with DVT when I started to have pain in my left calf that wasn't going away....continious cramp pain, usual treatment Heparin when Warfarin, when I came back to UK got sent to a blood specialist who gave me 3 months Warfarin and to wear type 2 stockings for 2 years..
Sometimes I get pain after dancing or too much exercise, I don't know what is the next step I should take please let me know if anybody can suggest what I should be looking for to find out why I had the DVT in the first place...

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

But if you had one liver test and it showed elevated liver enzymes for example, and then the next test showed up normal - that can happen for a lot of reasons and wouldn't necessarily be related to why you got a DVT.
Your trip to India could easily have been a cause though - especially if you were on a long flight or train or car trip- that can be a huge risk factor. Other risk factors are surgery, family history of clotting and genetic clotting disorders, being overweight, smoking, birth control pills - and sometimes there's no reason found at all.
Sounds like you're on the standard treatment for DVT, and if you scout around the past discussions in this support group, you'll find a lot of answers. Do you know if you had any blood tests to look specifically for genetic causes of your DVT?
I've had genetic tests and have been negative for all. Have no family history. My first two clotting episodes were blamed on birth control, but that was not the cause when I got multiple PEs last year. We don't have a cause for the PEs at all ... the docs told me I may have something that we just can't test for yet. I'm find with that. Even if I knew what I "have", I'd still be a warfarin lifer.
She gave me the 3rd. degree about my drinking habits and scared me with the possibility of cancer, but it turns out the liver was just in distress because of the DVT in my abdomen. As the clot dissolved my liver counts returned to normal.
