I was here awhile ago now, but need some advice. After having a few surgeries and my mothers side having seemingly having herditry blood disorders I am currently highly stuck.
My aneathetist from the last operation said I NEED to get tested, he said it's very dangerous for me to continuously go in to operations not knowing. I am fine to get tested but here is the thing...my mum jsut went to the doctor to get her reports... and on her file it states there is nothing they can trace to explaining why she has this blood issue, they in her early years that it caused her frequent miscarriages. But how can this be? I'm going to the doctor wednesday to discuss it all...What is it I am to get tested for... apparantly they said it's unexplained heritdary blood clotting that for my mother presented itself as frequent miscarriages untill she reached about 50 years of age. I'm SO confused.
Has anyone got any insights?

I haven't any insights , only thoughts. Could it be that your mum's righted itself around menopause ?

From what I've read, multiple miscarriages can sometime be a result of the presence of lupus anticoagulant(blood test, it should be positive(or negative), 2 times, at least 12 weeks apart for the test to be conclusive.

Angel - it presented itself as miscarriages they believe in her younger years (when she was trying to concieve), her clotting did not start untill 45-50 and is continuing today (she's 58 this year). This is why I'm not overly worried - it seems to present itself later in life but I got a scoulding from nurses and doctors about not knowing if I have a hereditry blood disorder and going into such an intense operation.
