It's a gas mower self propelled, but I have about an acre, and it was really hot today, so it did kick my butt. I couldn't use the riding mower where the grass was wet. I was out there for two and a half hours and my body is feeling it now.

Wow, Angie, what a woman. I think you are going ti be very sore starting tonight. hot baths help, so do menthol arnica rubs, or arnica rubs in genral, no sde effects. The earlier you put it on, the better it works. I couldn't mow like that; I shudder thinking about the pain that would cause. Not to mention the recovery time. I thought we have a big yard--you have a big one to mow. We want to downsize. This is getting impossible to keep up.

Bill, that's great that your mom was so surprised. And all those close calls about letting the surprise slip, were just, that, close calls. Did you take pictures? I think that was a dumb question.

Aw, thanks Jacquie. I did take a hot bath earlier, and it did help. Can you get arnica over the counter? I have Ben Gay that I use sometimes, but it doesn't last long. There's no way I can keep up with all this stuff around here as I get older. But, at least yard mowing season will be winding down before long. Woo hoo! There was no one home across the street last night. Oh, it was so peaceful. This is making my pain a little more bearable. Are you feeling any better? Has Bella taken all her breaks today? I worry about her working overtime, lol. My girls are currently on break from guard duty ;-)

You get Arnica at health food stores, and it's not expensive if you check out different brands and product. You probably can find it at Walmart, too. There's a good one called " Muscle Therapy" by Hylands. I get it for about $7.00. It really works, good thing to keep around. Bella is currently having a barking fit because the neighbors cat is lying on our front porch. I'm going to close the curtains soon and make her stop working for the night. I'll be at Pollo tomorrow, so I'll be scarce. I wish you guys could come; it's so fun.

I did take a few pics...you should see the open mouth on mom when she walked in...I think I caught it on camera...not sure....but I did get a pic of my niece holding her mini long hair doxie...bunsen...I will post that here but my mom pics prob will go on my pics page maybe tonight maybe not it is after 11pm...I am tired...

and a yard that is an acre with self propelled mower would not be fun..,my knees cannot do my moms house as she has a I think 1/3 acre....not sure...don't think it is acre...

well high fives on getting your grass done without the riding mower...I would have run that sucker even if the ground were wet....hugs

I've used the riding mower when the grass was wet a couple of weeks ago, and the grass had gotten clogged under the deck and wouldn't come out of the chute. I know wet grass is hard on the deck, and grass had gotten caked in the tires, and that stuff is almost impossible for me to remove. It made a huge mess, and I vowed never to do that again. I would have taken a break while mowing if it wasn't looking like rain yesterday. It actually started sprinkling on me right as I was finishing. Well, at least I'm not feeling as bad as I thought I would be. I think next time I have to use the push mower on the whole thing, I may do the front, then do the back either later in the day, or the following day.
