Missing her, so sad to hear you lossed your mom. I understand how difficult and sad that is. When my mom died, that was the toughest day of my life, and birthdays, holidays, just most days are difficult with out her. She lived with my husband and me. Our home just isn't the same without her. Yes, I have hugged my babies. My dogs, Lobo and Bella, get hugs and kisses and lots of play time every day. They are always right beside me. My two buddies; they help me through difficult times. They bring so much joy into my life. They always make me laugh with their distinct cute little personalities. Glad you found our little corner if the world.

hugs so sorry you lost your mom....I am lucky mine will turn 90 on Sept 4th and we have a planned surprise party for her on 6th at restaurant....all her grand kids and great grand kids will be here...only one not coming is my nephew from Ohio's wife she has to work....

anyway yes I hugged my two boys...Tucker and Shep...tossed Shep his ball a bit too....

I also frog tapped the bathroom so I can paint it....so I got something done today...LOL

So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I'm very thankful to have my parents. They and my two little dogs are all I have here. My girls keep me going. They provide a level of comfort that no human ever could. And, sometimes the more people I meet, the more I appreciate my girls. I hug my girls, give them a kiss on the head, and tell them I love them everyday. There's nothing like seeing them in the morning with their wagging tails, and stretching those short little legs, lol.

Thank you all for your kind words. It's a really rough patch, journeythru. I'm not looking forward to the holidays at all. You never really think about losing a parent but when it suddenly happens, you feel so lost and empty. Hugging my furry four-legged babies sure does help comfort me. And I think our pets know when we're not feeling well. They've been so affectionate lately. BTW your babies are too cute.

billwfriend, that's amazing your mom is turning 90. I was hoping my mom would be around that long; she was only 64. What color are you painting the bathroom? I find DIY projects lots of fun lol

Missing her, I would agree you are in a rough patch. Those "Firsts" are difficult, first Christmas, birthday, ...It took me a long time, but i look at it this way, right now your pain is six feet wide and ten feet deep, one day you notice it's five feet wide, but still ten feet deep. Then, later it's four feet wide, but still ten feet deep. It gets smaller in width and it doesn't get bumped up against as often, but always stays ten feet deep when it does. Then one day you realize you haven't hurt over your mom's death for eight hours (the width), but on the nine hour the pain is still ten feet deep. The width gets less and less. Does that make sense? A good book to read when you're ready-- it took me six months after my mom's death--is "Tear Soup." This is just difficult and takes a lot of time for the width to get less. I'm glad you have you're babies and DS to go through this with you. And I hope I haven't totally confused you!

Thank you, Missing Her. I wouldn't make it without my girls. And, I understand about feeling lost and empty. I've been going through a very difficult time for several months now. And, this is a great place to come for support. Also, we lost my brother years ago to a car crash. He was my only sibling, and he was only 17 when we lost him. I was only 5 at the time, so I remember very little about him. Holidays, birthdays, and the anniversary of his death have always been difficult. I miss him so much, but he lives in my heart forever.

And, our babies definitely know when we are not feeling well. They always know what to do to make us feel better and to make us feel loved. I hope your babies help ease your pain. I forgot to mention before that your profile pic is so adorable :-)

Hey, Bill, I've been here...this weekend I've been scarce because of going to hear all the bands. This is a huge five day festival where I live. So much fun. My girls aren't thrilled that we've been gone so much. I've been giving them lots of play time together to help cheer them up. Right now they are busy telling a deer what they think about it being in our yard. Funny girls

LOL run deer run they are barking....I can hear it now! Get outta my yard! LOL

Yeah, I wish the deer would run and stop eating my flowers. The deer away helps a bit. We just need to keep reapplying it. I'm sure my dogs think the deer are the biggest dogs they have ever seen. My husband mowed today, so the girls had to stay in their outside pen. When he stopped and let them out, they attacked the lawn mower, tried chewing the wheels, barked their little heads off at it. They would turn to run, stop, go back and attack it all over again. I don't know why they hate it so badly! So, you have to forgive my typos, my brace touches the keys and really interferes with typing, and I'm too tired to go back and double check. Sad, I know.
