Hi Folks!
We’re continuing to listen to your requests, and below you will find a list of the fixes and improvements that we’re working on for the next site update:
- You will be able to add photos to journals and discussion posts.
- You will be able to update your profile status message.
- There will be improvements to the tool used to upload avatars and cover photos (ex: image cropping).
- The feeds and also the list of discussions in a group will display the username of the member who added the latest reply, as well as the date of the last reply. Ex: “Last Reply By: TeamDS 22 days ago”.
- The line spacing in discussion posts and journal entries will be reduced, making it easier to view the body of a post.
- The newsfeed will only show content from Community Groups which are listed in the directory of groups.
- When other members view your profile they will only see activity from the listed groups you’ve joined.
- The intermittent issue some members have experienced where nothing happens when you click a button to post a topic or reply should be fixed.
- The font color for the links in your profile activity feed will be changed from the default text color, which should make it easier to determine what content is a link and what content is plain text.
- The notification count located by your avatar (top right side of page) will include new private messages you receive.
- Profile pages for closed accounts will only show a username, default cover photo, default silhouette avatar, and a message stating that the account does not exist.
- The site’s favicon (website and bookmark icon) will have the DS logo.
This is a larger site update than the previous few updates, so we have yet to schedule a release date. We’ll post again when we have a good estimate of when the site update will be released.

And still you ignore the issue about the dreaded reply text box that only allows visibility of two lines. Not all of us can expand this.
And then there's the issue that many of us with joint problems have. We need as few keystrokes as possible. This means that we need a way of logging in once [DS should remember the userid and password]. Or provide a dropdown list after we enter the first character of the userid.
What about all the broken email links?
It would REALLY be nice if you told us which things are on the "to fix" list (even if you don't have a 'done date' yet) and which things won't be fixed.
THAT would help a lot of us to be more patient and we wouldn't feel the need to continue to ask about things in these posts.
CaliforniaLynn didn't hear a thing LOL actually I took it as you stressing a point, not shouting :) and I agree with 2magicman that we need to be able to put our pics at our profile like we did before for those of us that want additional pics there and then you could always have it where they can be put in Journals, too :)
1) Get rid of gray color. (I'm fine with the blue, but I'm not attached to it...changing the blue is fine too.)
2) Put a navigation bar on the top of the posts, so that I don't have to scroll down to the bottom to hit "Last".
3) Please, please, please make it possible to put live links in the reply boxes. Music threads are so popular on here, as well as the ability to redirect new members with a live link to an appropriate forum.
4)Fix the small text on the original post box. My eyes aren't yet to the point where I can't see it, and I'm very fluent in being able to compensate with increasing text size on my computer....but I've had enough experience with vision issues to know that it will one day be a major issue.
5) Allow us to ignore and un-ignore without going through DS.
6) Allow founders of community groups to close them.
7) Smaller artwork...please. (My son looked over my shoulder the other day, and asked "Is that DS? What did they do to it?" He's 16...he knows chat rooms and web sites! That said, the issues here gave him the idea to possibly work on his firestation's website....so that's a big plus. I'm still waiting for him to clean out his room...so we'll see if he gets to it...)
(I'm patient. Literally none of my issues have been addressed yet with the "fixes". I'm adding my wish list now in the hope that one day they will be. But like I said, I'm patient.)
