Yes I had one in another forum.... I did leave the forum for a while but I was not going to let anyone drive me off DS.
She was doing it to others too and in the end was banned.

IMO DS reads the messages we send reporting things (thankfully at time or we would be overrun with scammers and salesmen) but do they actually go and read the posts and comments as they are made on the board?
Sending them the posts tells them what the person is saying but taken out of context it might not have the same meaning as it does when on the board itself.............

Is this the same person who is following another friend of ours around that forum? I know she was having a terrible time not so long ago.

IF/WHEN someone from DS reads this I would like to know if someone does read the comments as they are made on the actual forum or is the judgement made about a person based on what is forwarded to them?
I know it would be a huge job to do that - I am just curious to know if it is done that way.

LJ does W&T have a CL? If not maybe that is something that might help......... it does sound like there are many problems popping up there a lot of the time.

That's a good question Hathani - I don't know if they have a CL - if W&T does have a CL - they don't EVER show their face - and who would blame them in there? :)

It just amazes me that a few people can run a board into the ground with sarcastic, demeaning comments and no one does a thing except tell me to put that person on ignore.

I'm not sure that this is the exact same person that was stalking the other person in there - we have a few - and they are just as angry and mean as they can be.

I also agree with you Hat about the fact that comments, taken out of context, can sometimes not get the message across. That's why I only send in the comments that are blatantly outrageous on their face. The ones that leave no room for doubt. Like telling me I"m

Maybe it is time for a few people to get together and request that you have a couple of CLs assigned to the group - Hopefully they will not be the ones who are causing all the problems there.

I am not a member of the board but I have read many posts in the board and they really make me mad that some are getting away with the things they are writing and no-one is doing anything about it.

I have said this before and I will say it again - I do not know why they thought it was a good idea to put up this and other boards like the Immigration one as well. They are not supporting or helping anyone with their health problems and fro all I have seen cause nothing but nasty and bitter attacks on others.
It is very hard to put the genie back in the bottle but it is just a click of a button to remove these boards and if people want to have them let them start up member ones.
IMHO it is time to return the genie to the bottle and lock the lid - please DS!!!!!!!

Because of the nature of "support forums" there is always a degree of politics in them. The W&T forums magnify that by it's very nature. And because of the politics, there will always be a moderator or more that agrees or is at least sympathetic with some of the views and so turns a blind eye to their antics and abuse.

Human nature will never allow objective policing of a group that is exchanging ideas. DS is just more blatant in practicing that one-sided moderating and they always have been.

Kid that is understandable, and yet not. This is for the sick BUT these little extra sites take your mind off of you. Like the Christian groups. Vets and Vets wives have alot to get off there chest, and W&T is a good place for it. Like I said before one friend DLouise was a viet nam vet wife, talking to a woman who didn't know nothing but the news paper. They locked horns good and hard, till the woman followed here all over DS she finally couldn't take it with her hubby dying of Agent Orange.What happened to promise to be nice???????

Unfortunately cyberspace imitates real life. I've seen this happen in big corporations with the same results. What I have learned is when you can lick 'em and you don't want to join them, you go around (i.e. circumvent) them.

I've been part of a group where we get occasional 'interlopers' who are down right abusive. They have been and continue to be reported (including one letch who collected underage girls as friends here & came on to several of the women) but DS did nothing!!!!!!

I have never seen a group come together by ignoring (not necessarily putting on ignore) these trolls the way this group does. First the don't respond to any threads these trolls initiate. When it comes to threads by others where the troll tries to stir up trouble, the group responds to those threads as if the troll's comment wasn't there (as if they are on ignore). Usually the troll is gone w/in a few days.

Trolls are attention ho's, so when they don't get any attention, they go away and find people who will pay attention to them. .

The trick is to get as many members together on this as you can, including notifying newer members, and agree to ignore the trolls.

oops, my 2nd sentence should read, "...when you CAN'T lick em and don't want to join them..." (unfortunately for the purpose of my response, licking them would only encourage their behavior :p)

Who decides who the troll is? I think this is a poor policy banning together without proof. As you can see in another post a member was abolished and noone knows why.
Who sets the pace?

This is tragic to say the least about the person who was removed from a community.
It is my hope that the DS police who are not employed by DS might think twice before reporting a member. Perhaps your ignore button would work better. if you have nothing better to do ask 'DS for a job evaluating the sinners. JMO

Must admit that while I have been reported on two separate occasions (and warned) in a vendetta by a person against a group of us both times.
I have only ever reported scammers and sellers on here.
You all know the sort - those who send out those letter about the millions of dollars - just send me your email.
Or those who want to sell their "products" on here - especially those will cure anything from the common cold to the Black Plague.
I prefer to just ignore people if they bug or annoy me. I have found that works best and if someone wants to go around being stupid then that is not my problem, they can go ahead and do it.
Also found the so-called trolls end up giving up attacking or annoying you if you just refuse to talk to them.
Works for me!
