Here is some info on reducing the size of a picture file:

though there are other ways to do it also.
My experience has been that it seems to be an on going sporadic problem. Report it to DS, but don't expect an answer right away. IMHO, I think it's more to do w/the site. I had the same problem the other day and my photo was only 457kb! After 5 tries, I quit and waited until the next day. When I tried again it uploaded.
I was going to start my own thread but as Bob had started one I thought I would post this on here. Sorry for the slight Hijack Bob.
Last week I had a lot of photos that we took on a trip, of our place etc. The camera took them at over 2MB so I resized them and put the ones I wanted into my photo page (closed to just me) as I wanted to use them in some picture journals.
When I went to put them in the journals - even though the photos were definitely on the page they were not all coming up in the image box. The only way I could put them in the places I wanted them was to add the ones I could get up, save the journal to just me - delete those off my page and the go to edit and put another lot up.
What should have taken an hour took me three hours to do. Oh and A few words which a lady should not know - let alone utter! ! ! ! LOL
BTW WV I found that it is best to resize to under 1MB where possible - especially if you are putting up more than one!
