HSWI Human Services Workforce Initiative (Annie E. Casey Foundation)
HSWI Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate (UK)
Hsw International, Inc. (HSWI) A stock market acronym (related to ReMark which is related to DS in some obscure or not so obscure ways.)
A search "what is an HSWI cookie" brought up this:
"hSWI/SNF sequence preference for nucleosome movement in the context of polynucleosomal ..." Probably not that. :)
iTunes announced:
Naked Short Web Site Announces NRSRF, HSWI, VLCO, SPMI have been Removed from Threshold Lists Today
Woot Woot! I'll go with that one. LOL
Still wondering what that acronym stands for. And just curious.
My hard drive search netted me zero HSWI cookies. Of course they could be hidden in the lovely firefox index files, lol.
Don'tcha just love how computers can hide things? :)

I wonder just 'what' might not work as well. If it's the email notices----- well, how could I tell the difference???? lol
I block all google cookies, but allow meebo. Once I added meebo cookies to my exceptions list in firefox, I had no problems w/the chat bar. I also block all third party cookies but accept all cookies that actually say dailystrength. I also use adblock plus so I don't see any ads, including those that pop up on the chat bar. :D
I doubt that blocking cookies has anything to do with whether or not we get our email. I've been doing the same thing w/my cookies since 2007 & only stopped getting emails in 2011 and for a time in 2010 but they fixed that and it worked fine until the great migration.
How do you do that?
I have Windows 8 (and hate it) and use both Chrome and Firefox.
I know I HAVE 'cookies' (don't know if any of them are 'HSWI') and I never remove them.
My understanding ( and PLEASE correct me if I am wrong) is that if I delete them, when I go to any or their sites, I will have to go to the bother of entering my username and password and/or Email addy rather than just automatically be logged in.)
I'm lazy.
It is a good idea to delete cookies & cache every once in a while (some say once a week; some say every time you close your browser). It keeps from clogging up your computer and cookies can get corrupted (you know like the join the mob lol).
Windows XP & Windows 7 each have a search feature that you can type in anything (like HSW) & it will show you where it is on your hard drive. I don't know a thing about windows 8 (sorry). But maybe you can google it.
Don't know anything about chrome either, but I can tell you how to see your cookies in firefox. Go to
Tools (at the top of the screen next to help)
Options
Privacy
Show Cookies
You can delete selected cookies by highlighting & clicking remove.
Or if you just want to remove them all, you can go to
Tools
clear recent history
check cookies
check cache
click ok
I block all third party cookies. That saves a lot of crap from getting on the computer that has nothing to do w/your ability to navigate most websites.
To do that go to
Tools
Options
Privacy
uncheck third party cookies
As for having to re-enter user name & password, if you use firefox you can save them & then even when you get signed out because you deleted cookies, once you've saved the user name & password, it will auto fill them in.
Hope this helps.
You're MORE than helpful!!!!
LOL!! Corrupted cookies!!!!
Yes, I have something or other on both Chrome and Firefox that pops up and offers to remember passwords for me whenever I make one up at a site!!!
So I'd just have to hope I can remember the names!!!
I don't know if my autofill thingie remembers that part.
Yeah, thanks a lot!!!
I greatly appreciate your explanation and easy to follow instructions!!!!
(I especially appreciate that latter part!!! I'm such a ditz!! I NEED clear instructions, LOL!!!!)
