New Friend

I just got a new friend (Team DS) and Doug is no longer on my friend's list. Is Doug pretty much out of here now?

Doug 'surrendered' his account to TEAMDS a couple of weeks ago. He still has a DS account .. but I cannot remember the member name. He has also handed over 'the reigns' to a good guy named LARS.

Doug got a TON of email. As co-founder and the first friend we all got when we joined, he was bound to find himself in this situation. Take some time and consider just how long it takes to respond to a bunch of PMs, say 10 of them.

Then scale that up to 100 or 1000 and you get an idea of what it would take for him to respond to every PM.

It's great, instead of ONE person that won't respond (sure he received a kabillion messages)

Now there are wa whole TEAM of individuals that ignore your requests!

Great point Mr. PepperMan, I can see how he would have been overwhelmed. When I first signed on I was a bit confused why he never answered any questions.

I noticed a few weeks ago that he was off the "friend" list and had been replaced with Team DS...I just thought they were trying something new. Has there always been a team DS(?), and I just missed it?

In a way yes, there has always been a TeamDS. It was the core of people who started DS; they just responded (from time to time) as themselves.

If you think about it, what are the odds of going to FaceBook and getting a personal reply from founder Mark Zuckerberg? Not that DS is as big as facebook, but the idea is the same.

What I was asking...were they always called Team DS? I am not thinking they were.

It was of course the group that started DS, which would be "the team". But the name is new, right?

If I was on Facebook, I would not expect a personal reply from the founder. But does the founder (of Facebook) actually send you a "welcome to this site"(?)as does DS?

When you are new here, you really don't know any better. But you learn things...slowly and surely.

Still enjoying me some learnin'! LOL!
