DS will run from databases, once there are so many poeple on at once it is bound to slow down a little.

try Firefox instead of Internet exploder.. Firefox runs much more reliably than IE for SO MANY things.. give it a whirl..
Regarding slowdowns.. its a problem with server loading
most likely like adam suggested. As a professional systems
admin I tend to size my servers to handle peak loads and it seems like the server(s) in this case may be undersized for the
busy times.. Its all about a trade-off between cost of servers and response time for users.. Likely the database backend server gets a bit overwhelmed..
