Hi Folks!


We released an update to the site which fixed the following issues:


- The news feed will show you fresh content when click the “show more” button.


- After you post a comment on journal or a discussion topic you will be redirected back to the last page of comments. 


- Discussion replies can now have paragraph breaks.  



We are working on fixing issues and improving the site to make it easier to do all of the things you love about DS. Here is a list of some of the upcoming fixes on tap for next week:


- Login/Password Issues  - This continues to be our number one priority. 


- Adding links to the the crisis resources in both the site’s hamburger menu and footer.


- Increasing the display size for hug comments.


- Changing some font sizes which will make it easier to view content on the site.


- Changing the order of your friend list so that members who are online will show up at the top of your friend list.


- Improving how content set to “friends only” is displayed.


There are many more fixes and improvements still to come.

I would like to see font colors and choice of size of font. Also will the password and username ever be saved so we don't have to enter it everytime? I realize that you are concerned with our privacy but if we are using anonymous user names I don't see why we can't have a choice to say logged in.

dixieblue, I think that saving the username/password is something your browser or phone can do, not DS, because mine are saved on both my PC and my phone.

It looks like the username/password issue is rather complex. I had the problem of resetting my password every time, but that was fixed for me rather quickly. So I guess that as they find causes of the error they fix it. Just a question of finding all the causes.

I am also annoyed by the auto log out, at least they bumped it to 2 hours of inactivity rather than just one. But then my computer is rather isolated, the only people that have access to it are my MIL who can't sit in my chair (physical limitations on her part), my wife, and my dog. But I'm willing to live with the 2 hour limit. Other sites have a much shorter limit, but they are mostly financial sites.

Put me down as another voice for greater user control over fonts (Really, bold, italic and underline is all you got? Really?!?) and how the content any particular user is particularly interested in is displayed.

This isn't rocket science, guys. Please, join us in the future, like 2002.

Thank you DS, for listening and acting on our requests to keep us posted! It is much appreciated and I think it will help to retain some members who were considering leaving. And thank you for enabling us to have paragraphs in our comments.

dixie, donna & pepper, I had my user name & password set, but since they fixed the sign-in issue for me, it won't populate. I've seen other sites that, as a security/safety precaution, don't allow it to populate. It is nice to have it saved, but maybe that will come once they get all of the sign in issues fixed.

Count me in as one who is really annoyed by the auto log out. PLEASE, DS, let us stay signed in like we used to on the old DS!

I wonder if the auto logout can be a user preference thing? That way people could set it for the time increment of their choosing. Including 'Never'!

About auto log-out. I have to say that it sounds really nice that it is for our security, but we are not infants. If I feel unsafe staying logged in on my account, I will certainly log out on my own. Definitely should be an option.

Ditto on the auto-logout. Give us Options! Don't decide for us! Where is our simple "Settings" feature where WE control how our experience is displayed?
