DS: A dangerous site?

 I attempted to access daily Strngth on my google chrome browser by writing DS's full name in the address field, dailystrength.org. I clicked enter and got a message stating that I was attempting to access a dangerous site and that my connection was not secure. Later I decided to go to yahoo.ca and make a search for daily strength. It came up with the results for this site. That is how I got on this site. there was the mention that dailystrength.org used a .dailystrength.org server as being a possible part of the problem But if I did enter it.....and I evidently did, my personal information, passwords, my name etcetra would be used by persons with malicious intent. Is everything all right here securitywise? Is the certificate up to date, etcetra?

I can't tell you about the technical side...but I've been here for 10 years and have never had a problem. DS only has my name and an email. If you're concerned about security, you can set up an email just for DS. But as I said, I've never had a single problem.

It's been doing that on firefox off & on for the past couple of weeks. I contacted ds about it on behalf of someone who can't get on because of that very thing and then it happened to me too. It took them almost a week to respond with:

"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will reach out to the member you have referenced so that we can work with this member directly to resolve the issue that she is experiencing."

Unfortunately they didn't acknowledge that I was also having that issue.

Hopefully, they will realize they have a problem. It may just be that they haven't updated their certification. But who knows...

From what I've been told by others here, ds doesn't really respond to what we put in this group. So its better to send in a request. Not they they always acknowledge it, but that's all we can do - well that and hope and pray they fix it.

I've used three different browsers; google, IE, and firefox, and I've yet to encounter a problem like that. I also run daily malware and Nortons on both my computer and kindle and they have not revealed any problems as well.

Sounds like your browser or antivirus product is delivering false positive notifications. I could be wrong of course. Suggest you run disk cleanup on your computer (it is harmless), and probably delete browser cache/history (whatever your browser calls it). If you still get the warning, try a different browser ... IE(?). If IE works OK, uninstall your 3rd party browser and then reinstall it. Hope this helps.

hi, it's almost certainly down to the various trackers and adware DS tries to put onto your computer (other sites do this too but DS seems to do it alot)

I checked the Chrome sites about this. It says this

"Dangerous sites (also known as "malware" or "unwanted software" sites) can harm your computer, or can cause problems when you’re browsing online. Learn how to clean Chrome of unwanted ads, pop-ups & malware."

I have browser add on that identify and block them - right now it's telling me there are 5 requests for information coming from DS which it is blocking.

The message I got on FF:

"The owner of dailystrength.org has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (TSTS) to specify that firefox only connects to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

dailystrength.org uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for *dailystrength.org.
Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_DOMAIN"

It's been several days since I last got this error. It either happened when I typed dailystrength.org in the address bar or tried to sign in.

It would be nice if they let us know the status.

I have heard from the higher ups at ds. they are investigating this and will respond when they have an answer.

We believe we have found the root of the issue regarding the security certificate that a few of you have been experiencing, and have applied a fix. Please let us know should you continue experiencing this issue.

I was also getting that message on Firefox, but that message is no longer showing up.
