Hi Folks,

We’re planning to release the next site update (DS 2.3.0) this Thursday, September 29th.

Here is what will be included in the site update:

- Clicking the “load more” button when viewing group members will be fixed.

- The size of the text box where you enter a reply will be increased.

- Content in the newsfeed will display the name of the support group the content was posted in.

- Journal entries will have real dates. Ex: 09/07/2016 instead of “yesterday”.

- The font size for the text that appears in the boxes where you compose a discussion or journal entry will be increased.

- The font size and color of the text when searching the site will be easier to view.

- The Community Leader badge will be changed from a check mark to the letters “CL”.

- Special characters will be displayed properly in the newsfeed.

- Content that has been deleted will no longer show up in the notification drawer.

- You will be able to add photos to journals and discussion posts.

- There will be improvements to the tool used to upload avatars and cover photos (we’ll have image cropping!).

We’ll create another post soon to let you know what fixes and improvements are on deck for future releases.

Meebo was a very important part of this site. It helped a lot of us when we were in need of immediate support. I think a lot of people left when Meebo left. I know I did for awhile. Please think about bringing it back!

Meebo can't come back. Meebo was bought by Google and they simply turned it off.

I don't know if a similar chat function is returning which is funny because I've been talking to DS about the re-design since 2014 and I've never got a definitive answer. But you would think that in the 2 year build process, knowing chat was the number one request, it would have been a key part of that initial build launched end of June.

When are you going to at least tell us whether or not you intend the fix the horribly cumbersome navigation issues? (i.e. seeing only one post at a time; having to scroll forever to get anywhere, etc.) It's been three months already and you haven't responded to those of us who have repeatedly asked about this.

I suspect these fixes and updates are prioritized and rolled out according to how easy they are to fix/address, assessing whether making certain changes affects other functions of the site, available resources, etc and so they may not know yet how they're going to move forward with some of the requests. I don't know that for sure, just guessing based on my experience with projects I've worked on in my non DS life. Like the message says, DS will "create another post soon to let you know what fixes and improvements are on deck for future releases." That tells me they are committed to ongoing improvements/changes. Whether they'll make every member on DS a 100% happy, probably not. But I take it as a sign of continual investment in improving things.

you should add an arrow for next/previous for when reading posts. it'd be nice to read posts and hit the next instead of going back a page to find the next post.
