My daughter has felt like that for years. She can't go too long without eating.Her sugar is fine.

my husband is the same way. he has found that something salty makes him feel better, chips do more than a candy bar. his drs are also concerned about him being diabetic, but his sugars are always ok when we check them.

I too get that way as a sign of needing to eat something. When it is because of my blood sugar being low I break out in a cold sweat and feel like I am going to collapse to the floor. To me the two feel completely different.

im pretty sure that's just CF doing its job! Sense we have an exessive appetite we tend to eat more. I got fainy spells too. Usually i drink some orange juice, something with sugar makes me feel better, i agree. Then i eat a whole bunch of food to equal it out! Dont eat too much sugar, it may lead to CFRD quicker? You never know!

I have this same experience, and I'm not diabetic either. I've always wondered if it's related somehow to the CF, so it's really interesting to hear that other people experience it, too. And a few minutes after eating I usually feel better (either sugar or something with a little protein helps). I probably should watch the sugar so that I don't set myself up for diabetes later, but I'm not ready to tackle a low sugar diet right now.

I just thought I would throw out there that a CF doctor and CF endocrinologist told me that CF diabetes is not a diabetes you can prevent by eating less sugar. It is an organ failure, the pancreas.

Doctors seem to also be finding we can show symptoms of diabetes and sensitivities to blood sugar before we have issues on blood tests and are officially diabetic. After 5 years of borderline but technically not diabetic tests, my doctors convinced me to treat diabetes with insulin. I am not meaning to imply you need that, however.

Lastly, I also have been sensitive my whole life to what seemed like blood sugar, like you are all reporting. In my case, however, it manifested as migraine headaches.

do you all take salt tablets my little girl used to faint get headaches and tummy aches till we sorted her salt out she has a good high energy diet and her bloods were always ok she just lost so much sodium she would get that way she is on 8-10 sodium tablets a day now and it has settled it helps so much i can tell if she hasnt had the by the coulor of her face and her mood...
