Sorry, I am new to all of this.. I had one more question.. Have any of you tried probiotics?? My dr suggested I do this (2 years ago when I had my first major flare).. and it made my symptoms WAY worse! the diarrhea got so much worse.. i quickly stopped it after the misery it caused.. anyone had this problem?

They didn't make me sick; I just found them to be not really be helpful. I tried a few different brands too.

Some others swear by them.

My feeling is if a specific supplement or food is making you feel worse, don't take it.

Thank yall!! Yea I couldn't get over how bad they made me feel! I have colonoscopy endoscopy scheduled soon.. then they want me to do the pill cam ( i never did it last time - about 2 years ago.).. thanks so much for yalls help!

I thought it was just me! I hadn't had a flare up in years, UC totally controlled by Asacol (I know I'm lucky). Then I started taking probiotics because they are so highly recommended, especially for those with digestive disorders. After a month, I ended up with a flare up! Now I've had to increase my Asacol dosage. I'm still waiting for it to totally settle down again. I have started using a website called Consumer Labs to research supplements, and they had a day devoted to research on probiotics. They had a lot of warnings about them, their purity, the fact that they can make people sick. The one probiotic that has apparently been thoroughly tested and is the one used in the government studies with good results is Culturelle...if anyone wants to try it.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
