I wouldn't say it's common to Crohns. although anyone with IBD has had some funky looking poop at times.

Orange colored poop could be caused by medication, certain foods, or not absorbing bile salts. Mention it at your GI appointment. He may have some insight.

There can be extraintestinal manifestations of crohn's and UC and I've read that neurological manifestations can happen but it's not common.

Yes, I have been reading about those - it gives me a little silver lining - that maybe if I could get my stomach issues under control, that gives me a little hope that maybe the neuro ones would follow behind? or be more manageable? The neuro symptoms started after about three months of pretty bad GI symptoms (includindg big wt loss)

Hi! It went as well as can go - they of course want to scope me.. they took a ton of bloodwork, and I'll have my scope on Wednesday.... My stomach seems to be getting a little better.. as I didn't eat for about 2-3 days... I just got IVIG today too, so that always helps.. .. Curious what they will find on the scope! I still am having blood in the stool.. ugh..

I had orange stools when I had C-DIFF. It was horrible, like pumpkin pulp. It took me a few months to get rid of it. I believe the antibiotic that I was treated with was called vancomyacin. I had to do about 4 rounds of it. and continued stool samples to make sure it was gone. I take a very strong probiotic now so that it won't come back. Primal Defense Ultra by Garden of Life. Hope this is not the case with you. I do think some meds can cause color change. I thought maybe it was the Balsalazide, but no, I am still taking that awful stuff, along with 150 mg Imuran and 20 mg Prednazone. I started tapering off the Prednazone and went back into a flair just a few days ago, so am upping Prednazone again for the third time trying to get off this stuff..Hope your GI can help you out.

Thank yall!! They have tested me for C. Dif and it was negative.. speaking of which.. I have my scope on wednesday and everyone is pretty sure it is in fact crohns.. I am SUPER nervous about going on some of the meds - antibiotics especially, as I don't want C. Dif! I work around sick people and am in contact with C dif at times... Is flagyl and cipro really necessary if I do in fact have chrons?

(My sister goes to the same GI dr I do and she got put on flagyl, cipro, prednisone , 6mp and more I think- now humira).. anyhow.. is it really necessary to do the antibiotics?

Hi, I'm sorry for all you've been through. I can't speak to the lymphedema, but my understanding with diverticulosis is that most people don't know they have it, and that often it's diagnosed by chance when you have a colonoscopy. Most people don't have symptoms of it but for some people, it can cause cramps and constipation. I think the recommendation is to eat a diet high in fiber. Diverticulosis isn't the same thing as diverticulitis, which is more serious because there's inflammation or infection. With diverticulitis, you can get very ill.

Also, there's a difference between Colitis and Ulcerative Colitis. Colitis is inflammation in the colon usually caused by an infection and it can be treated. . Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that usually requires life long medication to keep control the disease. So I'm not sure which one you have.

Are you being treated by a gastrointestinal doctor and if so, what is he telling you as far as your condition, your treatment, your symptoms?
