Yeah, I know it's hard to treat sometimes. What kinds of extreme measures does your doc want to take? Have you looked into fecal transplant? I know a couple of folks here have done that for their C Diff.

There's not a lot of activity on this group lately, but you might be able to do a search on C Diff to see if any old discussion threads pop up.

Fecal transplant is what he wants to do. I really would like to talk to someone who went through it, or is at least battling C-Diff. Its a lot to take in.

Unfortunately, the few folks I know who did the fecal transplant haven't been on in a while. You might want to check out the CCFA website. There's lots of good resources on it and they have a forum as well:

I've had C-Diff many times. I've been hospitalized a few times for it. I hate it. I hope you get better. I've never tried the fecal transplant myself. No hospitals in my area that will do it, and I never could get a referral to one that did. Antibiotics work after a few months, but few like hell in the meantime. The transplant is probably the better option. good luck.

hey there! i got c-diff during one of my hospital admissions when i was getting diagnosed and it is the absolute worst. I didnt have to get the transplant but I have heard some really great things about it! hang in there, I know it sucks so bad and is just the worst. makes everything else you're going through more complicated.

I had the fecal transplant on the 20th. I am still recovering and lost a lot more weight. pretty sure the clean out kicked in the UC and Chrones. now its a waiting game, pretty sure I lost most of the new bowels, but the GI doctor is aware, he also said it may not work for me, I was and am very frustrated!!! And I didn't have this weight to lose!!!

Thanks rmb, that link you gave me was very helpful also, thanks!! I start a group next wed. I'm hoping there will be someone in there that battled with C-diff, if having UC and crohnes is not enough!! it just would be so nice to talk to someone that truly understands!!!

Hang in there, you are doing your best. I know its hard to find people that understand! I went through all of this at 16 and lost most of my friends because of it. Always remember that you're not alone though!!!

Wow that is young, yeah people don't understand and don't want to talk about it, so they end up ignoring me, which is very lonely and makes me feel invisible. I have a few people who I am very thankful for. I saw some discussion in here on meds, but I didn't see anyone on Humira. I am on that. I take a shot every other week, I like it, I would listen to others opinions or if anyone got side effects. I've been on it since about last spring.
