I have been having trouble sleeping and am trying to find something natural that I can take instead of the usual over the counter sleeping pill.
I bought some melatonin today and read on the back that people with immune system diseases should consult their physician. I did notice that people on immunosuppressant drugs cannot (should not) take it. I am not on any immunosuppressants so I am not worried about that.
Is UC a immune system disease? Is that the same as an autoimmune disease? I feel silly asking as I feel I know quite a bit about my illness.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

Melatonin may increase the immune system. There's stuff on line about side effects of melatonin.
I read about the study in mice and I read about how they thought (think) that it could be useful in treating UC. However, I woke up several hours later feeling very nauseated and had to throw up. Not sure if it is because of the melatonin or not but I did not sleep well and I woke up feeling fine. Probably won't be taking it again.
