Just started Remicade

I just had my first remicade treatment two days ago and since yesturday my muscles are starting to ache especially in my neck and sometimes I fell agitated, anyone of you had those symptomes after having Remicade???

I haven't had the nerve to do the Remicade, I feel it would be as evil as prednisone, good luck and I hope the ill effects will go away.

I did not have a reaction so I am not sure if that is one or not. I would let the dr. know.

I was on Remicade along with Immuran for almost 1 year. I did feel the same for the first 2-3 infusions but it decreased after that. I had to stop the Remicade after a year because my body stopped responding to it. Other than that, I didn't have any other complications with the Remicade. I am supposed to be starting Humira soon. Humira is very similar to Remicade but the only difference is Remicade is based on a mouse protein whereas the Humira is based on humanized proteins. Our bodies can develop antibodies to the Remicade but apparently not with the Humira. The time I was on the Remicade, I felt great and my Fistula (even though it was not draining) was almost pain free. I would definitely ask the doc about the Humira as well. After the first month, I was slowly taken off the Prednisone and things stabilized. Along with the Remicade I was on various other med's as well - immuran, cipro, flagyll, pentasa...
Currently I am having a very difficult time with a growth which was found near a perianal fistula i had multiple surgeries on over the last 8 years. It actually pushed my rectum and tail bone off center. The pain associated with this is almost unbearable - wish me luck. My team of nurses/doctors is out of the LAIR Center in Vancouver, B.C. They are VERY experienced with Remicade and current treatments for IBD.

I tried Prednisone for 6 days and I had really bad side effects, I had to see the cardiologist and put on some BP med, my bp was up to 170/125 and my GI doctor admited me to the hospital whit severe tachycardia and severe high bp, so thats why Im on Remicade, I can`t not tolarate some meds like prednisone, what a powerfull med that prednisone.... can do damage to your body.

remicaide has helped me go into remission several times, once just before I was going to have surgery it stopped the need to Now my body is getting use to it, so I don't know if sometime soon I will stop working all toghter.Good luck.
