Hi there,
Just wondering if any of you have gotten through a colitits flare without using medications, or a very low dose of medication, and how long did your flare last. I'm currently going through what I would call a mild flare (compared to my past ones). I am on a low dose of anti inflammatories at the moment and no immune suppressors as of right now. I do have some blood in my stool (mostly on the tissue paper) and 5-6 movements a day (mostly formed). I have eliminated gluten and dairy from my diet and eating mostly protein and sweet potato and eggs and being careful with my portions. I also have smoothies with vegan protein prower, pysllium husk, banana and a little pineapple and feelng full during the day and going to bed. I've flaring for a week and I am hoping symptoms will decrease as time goes by. I am already feeling fatigued. I feel like things won't get worse if I keep doing what I'm doing, but I don't know if it'll be enough to clear it up. Thanks in advance for any response of your own experience :)

Hope you feel better soon!
Try the low residue diet just for two days to give your body a break and I hope you start to feel better very soon. If you continue to see blood in your stool I would talk to your doctor though.
