What worked to get me into remission is the Specific Carbohydrate Diet starting gluten-free and then adding the rest of the diet.
Congrats to you.
Listen to what your body is telling you and eat your way to health. I do not do the Klein diet but I have his book and agree when we are in a flare our body is trying to rid itself of the contents we've eaten. I know when I ate my trigger food that my body would just recognize it as an enemy and just turn me inside-out till every last drop of it was out of me. I stay away from the food that causes me trouble and I can eat everything else I'm able to eat all kinds of fiber, meats, fresh veggies, some fruits, some cheeses. I've done well for the 30 years or more with CD or UC. Eat right for you and remember to keep a food diary so you know what foods to not eat. Always read ingredients as well; they tuck some of the avoiding food into them so watch.
I truly believe that if we ate food that is whole (in the form it is grown...and ripened most of our problems would go away.) Stay away from processed items...ask yourself is this food in the form the Lord has prepared it for me to be eaten in? Dairy is my trigger food and you would just be surprized how often it is in everything... So needless to say I watch what I eat. Goodluck to you Jon!
