EHuesken I have UC and Celiac and my doc is fairly new but so far so good. He likes to laugh a lot which helps.
Thanks everyone great to have others who have danced the same dance. Take care.
I don't know... Do you have down time at all? And I don't mean down sick time - I mean time when you are just still... You know that quiet fishing time when you don't have to talk or do anything but breath... We need that Chuck... : ) Take some... It's ok! and you'll feel better for it! Hope you feel good... Take care! Marcia
What worries me is that these feelings of wanting to be isolated and being independent and keeping to oneself are signs of depression, along with the lack of motivation to leave home. What are your thoughts? Do you think an anti-depressant coupled with the 2385203958 other drugs we are taking would help?
Thanks again everyone for the support it means a lot. Charlie
I know with my UC, I do suck up a lot, and I'm a gamer. Even when I'm not up to par, I try to do stuff socially, I try to act like myself. I'm kind of outgoing and love socializing, so even when I'm not well, I still want to try to do those things. Part of it is afraid I'm going to miss something! But there are times when I just think, geez, I really can't.
I think there's a difference between brooding and just taking your personality down a notch when you're not well. So as long as you're not being a out right shit to everyone in your life, it's ok to be Moderately Happy Charlie.
I was just like you. I didn't want to do anything and when I did do something all I thought about was getting home and getting back to bed. I didn't think anyone would understand what I was going through and that most people would think I was a "freak". I realized that I was totally wrong to ever think that. My friends were totally supportive and so was my family. That helped to lift me from my depression. Then my UC started to get a little more controlled and things just started to turn around for me.
I now am my happy, outgoing self but it was a long road to get here. I still have my days were I wan't to just lay in bed all day but it isn't at all like it used to be. You won't stay like this forever. Enjoy the support you get from others can that can really take you a LONG way. Best of luck! :)
