6mp and hair loss

So I am on week 2 of 6MP and noticed my hair is falling out (not in clumps but in 10-15 strands every time i run my hands through it, which is beginning to add up. I am getting married in 4 weeks and have heard this is temporary, I am wondering if anyone else experienced this:
1. How bad their hair loss was,
2. (most importantly how long did it last/when did it finally end???
3. Did your hair grow back?

Hi shiggs, I have been on 6mps for 8 years and hairloss has happened for me steadily. I've found that by taking the vitamin, Biotin, it has helped the frequency and the quantity that comes out. Biotin also works for nail strength as well. Aussie makes a great volumizer shampoo if you're worried about the loss being noticable. Hope this helps!

I have never been on 6MP, but am on Predisolne, Imuran, Asacol and Remicade.

I was doing really well until I noticed my hair thinning really badly and I took 5000mg of Biotin. I took it for 3 weeks and for the past few days I am flaring up.

Has anyone taken Biotin and thought it made their Crohn's worse?

Mine will thin when on steroids, but it will stop and yes it always comes back, I take a multi vitimine that has everything you need and it has biotin in it and I have been really sick these last couple of months but doing much better and I think the vitimines has something to do with me getting better and my hair has seem to stop the thinning, good luck.

hi! My hair fell out like that too while i was on 6mp. and it didnt stop until i stopped using it. Unfortunately, towards the end of my use I had huge spots on my scalp that had lost hair. But as soon as I stopped using it, it grew back pretty fast! sorry to hear that its happening to you, maybe that Biotin will work for you! Good luck and congrats !

There is also a Biotin hair cream that you rub on the scalp, you leave in and it makes your hair look thicker and it helps with the bad spots, it tingles because it stimulates the scalp and I see results! You can get it in beautiy shops, my daughter is a hair dresser and she gets me all these things...it will not make your hair look greasy either, you put it on the scalp, blow dry it in and for me at least it does wonders..and take those multi vitimines!

I had major hair loss after a major GI bleed a few months after my Crohn's was diagnosed--mostly due to nutritional loss. I was on high doses of prednisone and then switched to 6-mp. My hair did grow back--curly for the first time in my life. Eventually it reverted to its normal straightness. At the worst, I considered buying a wig.

Take 6mp (and various vitamins). When I first started having sypmtoms of CD I lost so much hair in one particular area that I had a bald spot, but I was not on any medication at that time. I'm not sure whether I have more hair falling out with 6mp. I have extremely thick naturally curly hair and I have always thought alot of hair ended up in my brush --but it just seems to grow back. Wouldn't mind losing just a bit.

My hair is falling out as well, it's been about 2-3 months now, i am on imuran, prednisone and soon will start humira, i was wondering about the biotin, how much would you take? and where is it available?

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
