Diet

So, it's better to have a diet that is full of organic stuff, right? The problem with me, though, is that I can't afford organic all the time. I would readily do an organic diet if it would help my UC, but I don't cook and don't have the money for a diet filled with organic fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, breads, etc. has anyone found a solution to affording an organic diet?

The term "Organic" can often be used as a marketing ploy so you'd want to buy organic only for specific foods, in my opinion. Even my health food nut friends don't buy solely organic food.

There are some foods that I try to buy organic but not all foods, and to me whether they will help you with your UC or not is debatable. I wouldn't make yourself crazy over needing to buy organic foods solely due to UC.

I think organic is used rather loosely in stores to sell foods. I would research which foods are really best as 'organic'. Also, look into what the term organic actually means. Most items touting the name 'organic' do not actually meet the requirements for true organic. I think it is more important to try to eat what works best for your individual body along with what you can actually afford to buy. Don't stress over feeling you 'should' be organic and feeling you are shorting yourself if you can't actually afford the 'name'. It is sort of like buying name brand clothing. Sometimes it is worth the price and sometimes not. It depends on what you are buying.
