I was the same, very nervous! Heading in tomorrow to get my 4th infusion and I am looking forward to it! Bring a book or laptop to keep you busy if you want. I like it for the "me" time. Quiet and relaxing! Best of luck!

I too remember being so nervous when I went to get my first infusion. The nurse that administers the medicine is so sweet and she answered all of my questions and was very attentive which made me feel so much better. I usually take some magazines and also my iPod so I can listen to music/ play games. These things calm me and distract me at the same time.
The good news is they should start out really slow tomorrow and will be watching you extra close since it is your first time. Just try to get a good nights sleep and everything will go great tomorrow. Maybe a friend/ relative could go with you so that you don't have to make the drive alone. My husband took me the first few times and that really helped ease my mind.

I was in the hospital and everyone was talking like this would instantly affect me.

The thing to know about Remicade is that it takes a while to kick in.

Anyway, it was administered and took longer than it should have because the IV was finicky (they always are with me for some reason) and then the next day I sort of had a nervous breakdown because everyone seemed to be expecting instant success and no one told me what to look for with improvement or when to look for it. Then a doctor started talking about yet another medication and I thought, "Oh my god, I can't have another medication not work" and I spent the night pretty much zombified from it all.

Moral of the story; Remicade doesn't work fast.

I've been on Remicade for 2 and a 1/2 years. After the first infusion, I felt a little "blah" and tired but that was the only side effect. It went away after a couple infusions. Don't worry -- it's a piece of cake! Just boring. :)
