That's the exact same one I keep in my house too. I have taken one for the last 3 days for the same reason! I don't want it to go into pneumonia. Here it is the week-end. I already feel 70% better. I DO NOT take it often because I don't want to misdiagnose & hurt myself, but I firmly believe you know your own body. I won't take it longer then 5 days. If I'm not 100% I will then go to dr (no ins). If it is a bacteria type the meds will work. If it's viral- it won't. Hope this helps & you feel better soon. Let us know

By the way, I don't know what strength you have but I always take the 500mg

I start antibiotics the second day I feel something coming on. Waiting is a good way to end up with a pretty nurse looking down at you...

Damn......I been waiting a couple days now, hoping the Mucinex will work......I do have some Doxycline from June left.............when they switched me to Levaquin...............now I am wondering if I should just start taking em??

OK...I'll start them today. I live in the Virgin Islands and we don't have any CVS', Walgreens', Walmart's or a major food market to go get a flu shot for $25.00. You don't know how lucky and cheap you have it in the states. But you sure can't beat the beauty and weather down here. Thank you everyone.

I suppose (luckily) I'm not far enough along yet with emphy where they are giving me antibiotics to keep in supply at home. This is the first I've heard of it! I had no idea they did that! This is good information to know! Thanks, group!

Higg.............MINE are left over from my June flare up............the hospital switched me from one to another (the one Cap is on)........so I have all these left..............got 13 left...............and IF I get lucky and doc does call in new rx today (even though I owe another doc $$)...........then I will have them....................so...thats how I have mine........not sure how Cap has his (or anyone else)

I ordered my Levaquin online through a Canadian pharmaceutical :). I was quoted Levaquin at a local Virgin Island pharmacy is $300.00 for a 10 day script. I bought 60 online for $55.00 incl. shipping. A good friend of mine's brother has COPD and he always keeps at least 20 Levaquin pills close by just incase he feels he's getting sick.

Cap..........I sent ya a hug, but wanted to post here too. Doc called me in some Prednisone and Doxyclyline on Friday.......I been taking that and Advair and Mucinex..............and feel GREAT today..................fingers crossed that it lasts for all of us:):):)

My lung Doc said that he didnt think mucinex worked that great and instead put me on daily low dose of theophyllin which I take 2x's a day.
I havent had to take a antiboitc for last 3 yrs . I do keep predisone on hand and if I start having problems with extreme SOB I start on them but havent needed to do so in at least 3 yrs as well.
So I consider myself lucky considering my lung capacity is at 19%.
I have noticed that when I do not rest and sleep well at night and have days that I am really tired my breathing is difficult and more so when busy around the house.

When using antibiotics, I always remember something a doctor told me years ago when I had a serious strep throat. And I still read it on all prescriptions.

Once starting them, take the entire dosage as written on the RX. Do not save a few for later to get over the "hump". You can make the germs more resistant to the anibiotic therefore making the med useless for you.

Also remember that antibiotics are to be used for bacterial infections only. They do not work on viral infections.

I know I am probably preaching to the choir as a lot of us are allowed to have an emergency packet containing prednisone and an antibiotic on hand to help in our self treatment which means that the doctors have explained this to all of us.
