Vaping - 2nd hand "smoke" harmful?

My grandson uses his Vape each morning in the bathroom prior to showering. He probably uses the Vape 10-15 minutes before he showers. Our bathroom is small, about 6 ft by 8 feet. Right after he showers, I need the bathroom so I can shower and get ready for work. When I go into the bathroom, there is the odor or smell from the Vape lingering. I am wondering if this is harmful to me. From what I have read, the jury still seems to be out on this, although most articles tend to lean towards it being harmful. If there is anyone who can shed some light on this, has articles they can link to for me, your opinion on this, that would be helpful. I am considering tell him no more vaping in the bathroom, only his bedroom which I rarely go into. My husband is on oxygen from COPD, smoking for 50+ years, our grandson is hopefully going to quit smoking. Seems like right now he is smoking and using the Vape about 50-50. What's your take on Vape 2nd hand smoke, harmful enough for me to be concerned about him using it in the bathroom? Thanks for any feedback!

do you allow smoking in your house?
personally, i don't allow either any more.
i used to let a freind that does the e-cigs to do it in my house as i couldn't smell anything, but something changed that i started smelling it (and it was an annoying smell)
so now, just like smoking, people can do that outside.

i don't know (or care) if it is harmful. certain smells annoy me so i don't want them in my house. (my 16 year old grandson even knows he can't wear his cologne at my house as it stinks!)
my house, my rules. of course if i go to others houses, i have to respect their home & their rules. :)

No smoking in my house, no vaping in my house either !! There was a man sitting in the ER with his wife that was vaping and I asked him to stop, and he said, "OH, it is just vapor, I am trying to quit smoking?" If I can SMELL it, it is more than just vapor, and I told him it seemed stupid to me to be sitting there sucking up mist because he is trying to quit smoking. So he went outside. Funny thing, no one else, not even the girls at the desk said a word to him. I would tell your son not to do it where ya'll are and I am sure he would understand.
Most have small traces of nicotine , and some have various flavors, but if you can smell it, it will be better for you if it is out of your presence

No, second hand vaping isn't harmful. It's vapour with nicotine in it the vapour coming from propylene glycol which Is one of the products they use to make the vapour that delivers the meds for asthma treatments in hospital.....The name of it escapes me right now but.....nebulisor treatments, that's it. On the other hand, like the poster above, if the smell bothers you, ban it. Send him outside. There is no actual smoke, no chemicals floating around. It's Prop glycol, nicotine, fda approved food flavoring and that's pretty much it.

The verdict on the safety of vaping is still out. There have not been enough credible scientific studies. Just because something is "food grade" does not mean it belongs in the lungs, and just because vaping *might* be safer than real cigarettes does not mean they are safe.

Just about every major health organization has issued warnings about vaping. Vaping products are unregulated and manufacturing practices are variable. Some vaping products are made in China and we know what their manufacturing safety record is.

I am certainly not expert but after living with my husbands COPD for over 10 years and now seeing a rapid decline I have to ask why on earth would you be around anything that has an odor or mist or steam or wind etc. Keep the air as clean as possible. There is NO going back if you breathe something that is toxic to YOU. Everyone is different but we must protect what little bit of what is left. Don't chance it.

Don't think it makes any difference if it is safe or not, it's your house your rules especially if it is annoying.

Of course I am a "meanie" if my Grandson was that inconsiderate of me an someone in my house on 02 he would be looking for another place to shower.
