I saw the PULM at the end of February, and I think a few of you read, that she wanted me to have another sleep study, to see how I made out with the O2, and the bi pap machine.
Well, about an hour into the sleep study, a few weeks ago, they had to put me on 3 liters .....***bummed***...with the mask on.
But, she did have to adjust my levels down, on the bi pap machine.
Haven't heard a dang word from the PULM. And, it bothered me, because at my appointment with her, she said you're on 4 liters ,at night right??
I told her NO! I was told to be on 2 liters, quite some time ago. She showed 4 liters, but she didn't really say you need to change it.
But, after the sleep study, I decided I'd compromise, and go on 3 liters. I had called the office, and said "Listen, the Dr said 4, can you check it to see what I should be on, until the study is back??
Nothing...never got a call.
So, I'm using 3 liters , and going to call tomorrow.
I don't think I will be able to go off the O2 at night, seeing the RT had to put O2 on me, during the 1st hour of the study.
So much for getting rid of lugging around the 30 lb concentrator to Val's house, and up 5 steps!!! IT's so heavy to lift......I'm very sad about this, but such is life....

Had some kind of bug this past week, and also feeling a bit short of breath, and heavy in the chest. I PRAY, that i don't have a Respiratory Infection....I have another surgery on April 8th, for a Hysterectomy, so need to stay healthy.
my weight loss has slowed a bit, but lost 73 pounds since Dec 2nd...

Sorry you are having these problems. No portable concentrator?
It also sounds like you pulmo is dead, you might want to check the obits. Right before you pick a new one...

Maybe the reason for the O2 is part of the procedure, meaning they register your numbers without at first to get a baseline and than with to establish any change.
My unsolicited recommendation is to "Be a Squeaky Wheel" cuz they don't know how you feel and get record copies of everything and every time you make a visit so you have real time info like to give to your new doc.
Keep a personal diary that summarizes your office visits and days when you feel great and not so great and be brief.
Your new doctor would appreciate it and feel that he/she better be productive with you as a patient. /hank/

my 02 company (lincare) will deliver a concentrator AND portable tanks, hoses, canulas etc (everything i need) anywhere in the world that i want to go.
i have done it when i've gone to my son's house & when i know my travel plans of what motel i'll be in.
can you have your 02 company deliver a concentrator (and tubes, canulas) straight to val's
someone does have to be there to sign for it when it's dropped off & of course to give it to them when they pick it up.
my company likes me to arrange it 2 weeks before i go.
i used to lug my concentrator everywhere until my neck & shoulders went out (gosh, i wonder how i hurt them ;)

I am sorry your sleep study resulted in o2 that you did not want. But it seem you may need it, and if your level is dropping real low at night, it is doing damage to major organs perhaps...
But you are still doing great on the weight loss, and things will un ravel soon and become more routine for you.
I agree with Dennis, your lung doctor is not doing his/her job as a doctor and should be replaced.
You deserve answers regardless of how serious or how trivial (to them) your question is. Any question you have is important to you so do not let them treat you this way.
My portable (Sequal) weighs 30 lbs, with the battery in it, but it comes with a little wheel cart. But it is still heavy for me to pull around, Perhaps you could find some type of cart at walmart or something, just to pull the thing to Vals door. Hope things get better soon

Thank you so much for all your advice.
My insurance, doesn't cover delivering the O2, to Val's house, or anywhere.
But, the company screwed up about my Medicaid, and that refusal of delivery, came from Medicare, not Medicaid, so going to make some phone calls to find out.
My PULM has been great, but I think it's her staff, that is not doing their job. SO, I will be calling them tomm.
I haven't been FEELING well, had some type of bug, so tomorrow is catch up day, as I know you all understand those days, you just need to rest and heal from these dang bugs that are going around.
