Does any one know a good place to store oxygen cylinders? I keep a lot of them on hand for going out and they take up a lot of room in my bedroom closet and I am also affraid it is too hot there for them. Would it hurt to store in the garage or a shed or would that be to hot in the summer. Can't seem to find the right place...Thought about the basement but too many trips up and down to get them and I can't handle steps that well..
Any suggestions/

Live in Maine.... leave on porch. In winter I keep a couple in the house @ room temp... No issues

Hi Sherry I dont think they would get too hot in closet I have a large size in my car that stays there winter and summer without problems.So I think just about anywhere as long as its away from extreme heat and flame.

The temp is not a big issue but when in question, ask your O2 supplier. The garage should be fine but make sure they are secure from rolling or falling. I keep a spare E tank stored under my bed for use in power outages & one on wheels with the cannula attached for quick access. Have a good day.

I live in central Florida...hot hot summers....but always have an extra B tank in my car....and if I will be away for a longer time I will carry mrore...so far good ..2 1/2 yerars...Moonsky

I do the same as Moonsky. Never thought about the heat so I have either been lucky or it is alright to carry an extra and leave in the car, winter or summer.

By the way, if you can also get a portable concentrator, most can be charged as you use them by plugging into the cigarette lighter plug. That is polar opposite of what we used to do with that lighter plug..:)))

That is good for road trips as it is always charging. Well, when the car is running, that is.

I do just like Pontiac Slim says - leave on porch and I live in southwestern PA. Haven't had a problem so far with blowing the deck off the house and haven't had any negative feedback from my oxygen delivery company who pick up the empties out there each week and leave me fresh ones, so I figure it's not a problem or they would certainly comment.

Thank you all for the reply. Guess I will keep them in my closet out of the way. I never gave it a second thought untl someone ask if they were safe there. My daughters friend also ask if the fire department knew I had oxygen cylinders in the house. He advised me to let them know in case I ever had to call them for any reason, this was a safety factor for everyone.
