Still don't feel good

I went to the doctor last Monday for symptoms of achey all over, slight fever, chills, sweating. Thought I might have a flu bug. Doctor said he was going to give me a shot of rocefin and put me on antibiotics orally for 10 days. The next day I felt great but as the week continued I started feeling worse. Don't have any of those symptoms but I still don't feel very good so I'm going back to the doctor this afternoon. Any ideas out there?

no ideas, but glad you are getting back in to seeing the dr and i'll put in a prayer for you.

I have no idea what's causing this, but if you're on antibiotics and getting worse, it certainly deserves another doctor visit.

Maybe a virus? Antibiotics don't help a virus. Keep yourself hydrated and rest, let us know what the Dr. says. Feel Better Soon. :)

Thanks for all your advise. I did go back to the doctor and he ordered a blood test for everything including stool specimen, cholesterol. He called me when the tests came back and said all tests were great. It did show that I did have a very bad infection brewing and so that's why it was taking me a while to feel better. :)

Sorry to hear you were ill. Back whn I was getting lung infectiions real bd, it seemed one round of antibiotics never did the job for some infections. The first would clear it up, I would feel good, then feel bad again, only to find out it did not kill all the infection, so had to go on another antibiotic!! Some infections are like that, and need a booster antibiotic to sneak in and help. Your doctor seems to be doing a good job. Let us know what is going on and how you are doing...
Also, did you do mantinance rehab? I have been trying at home to get built back up. It is hard. Could not do anything for weeks after the heart cath!!!

and i hope he makes sure you're over it before he stops antibiotics.
like brenda, i got sick last winter & it took 3 rounds of antibiotics before i kicked what i had.
i hope you get to feeling better soon.

Dperk, No I don't have a clue, but your smart to follow up with your doctor. Many of us with COPD and Emphysema don't have the ability i our bodies to fight crap off. And our progression from a sinsus infection or head cold to something much worst is very very rapid. So you staying with it, is a great thing. Please keep us informed. Take care, Bill

So sorry you had to go thru it but glad the dr found out about the infection brewing. Sometimes antibiotics don't really help me feel any better for about 5 days
