COPD & Emphysema Support Group
COPD is a progressive disease characterized by airflow obstruction or limitation. Emphysema is characterized by loss of elasticity of the lung tissue, destruction of structures supporting the alveoli and of capillaries feeding the alveoli. Both have symptoms that include shortness of breath, among other respiratory troubles. If you are a COPD or Emphysema sufferer, join...

I just signed up for this one, thanks rcar01. I do believe stem cell is the way to go in order to fight this disease and relieve the burden of what we are going thru on a daily basis.
Captain, please let us know what happens, there are so many research studies, some legit, some not, and it is hard to make the correct choice. As a senior, with a medical problem that I want taken care of, I am afraid I am to easily a target .
I was also wondering about the "billions" of stem cells needed to even start regenerating, and I know they do not have that many to put in an IV, and if they manipulate them in order to get such a number, the FDA would consider it a drug and would not approve?
So if thousands or billions, are needed to even start regenerating, and they are only going to insert hundreds, what is the point?
It sounds so interesting, but remember, it is only a study....

I strongly believe that either nanobot and stem cell technology (both separately and combined) will be a pinnacle of achievement in medical engineering. Imagine something like gallstones - ground up by nanobots and just passed off. Stem cells to regenerate the lungs and nanobots to keep 'em clean.
Down side? As with any procedure you get 3 answers: you could die, nothing could happen or it could completely restore your lungs forever. Not trying to be a smartass here. The risk is higher, it being a "trial". Tis OK The first is extremely low probability. The final outcome is likely somewhere between. 2 & 3. Not bad odds for a horserace...

I will say that I won't be trying it . I sincerely believe that stem cell therapy is going to be the true cure for this one day but it will come most likely from EU. The European researchers haven't the same restrictions as the FDA requires.
This stem cell treatment is supposedly being monitored by the FDA. And I know they are but that doesn't really mean anything to me. They did offer to send me more information but I opted out.
I think it will be a waste of your money but in the process it might make them aim higher. Like get a real cure.

my shoulder joints are gone & just grind.
has anyone here had the stem cell injections for joints?
sounds like that is a common procedure that is just done in a dr office.
if it were to work on joints....Hmmmmm
i'm not trying to go off subject, but it is interesting as i know others suffer pain also with COPD & maybe it can be a start to a bit of relief???
(not to be confused with steroid injections; seems they are doing stem cell injections in joints ; http://wasatchpainsolutions.com/stem-cell-therapy/ )
You can stimulate stem cells with some natural low cost or no cost techniques.

In some ways I wonder if this would not be safer than some of the trials and treatment in exotic places. It would seem to me the body knows what it is doing until it doesn't then we get COPD.
I have been doing a one day fast once a week and have lost 15 lbs in 5 weeks and I gotta say, I feel better for a couple days after a fast. it does weem to reduce inflamation
