Lately, I have noticed that my lungs are sore. I am not sob and my oxy sat is 98-99 on room air. I do not cough and there is no wheezing. I have been diagnosed with stage 3 COPD. I take advair and spiriva and nebulized albuteral when necessary. I have not felt the need to nebulize at all however I do take a hit on my inhaler when I'm going to exercise or go shopping. My question, is this reason for concern or is it normal to feel this occasionally.

I don't know? I have never had sore lungs. Do you mean it hurts when you breath?

Yes, it hurts when I inhale. It's very mild but I am aware of it. It almost feels like a mild sore throat but in my lungs.

I've never experienced that. You should probably call the Dr. tomorrow. You may have an infection of some kind. Better to take care of it now before it gets worse :>) Deb

Deb is right, best to get to the doctor.
The only time my lungs hurt is if I have pleurisy, it hurt to inhale, cough, sneeze, very painful.

I never would have guess you could have stage 3 COPD with having room air 02 at 98-99. All I can say is it is wonderful you dont need oxygen.
Not sure about why your having sore lungs.I would call the Doctor to inform them. They might want to have u come in for a check up

My lungs are no longer sore. I suspect it was the cold weather since I was outside helping the clear the snow. As far as my stage is concerned, I was hoping I was misdiagnosed so a pressed my pulmo for the stage level and he replied. Why do people always want numbers, you are stage 3. I guess the meds are working. I just checked my level and it was 99. That was sitting down. When I walk on the treadmill it goes down to about 93. I hope I stay this well for a long time.

I cant figure out why ur dr would say that don't he know we need to know for lots of reasons . My goodness that sounds strange coming from a dr. Yes my lungs get sor sometimes I think I usually do have a little infection going on and cold air does make me have a very hard time.
