That was a very interesting article, tho it did stress that if your copd was very severe, that singing would not be beneficial if gasping for breath.
BUT, putting all the bad news aside, it sounds like fun, and I think even if a person can get out a few bars, it would life their mood if nothing else. Thanks for sharing

I use to love to sing. The other day a song came on and I began to sing, something I haven't done in years. I started to cry. At the time I thought about how this might be beneficial to others with COPD or lung disease. Techniques in singing such as breathing from the diaphragm really do help. When I got short of breath, I stopped singing, although the song lingered in my heart. For me, singing lifted my spirits and reminded me to not just assume that I could no longer do something, without trying. Singing truly lifted my spirit. Blessings.

Well my peeps..I have sung, all of my life!

And, in the past 4 months (that's when Val and I met), lol!! I started singing again!!

When I first was diagnosed, my Occupational Therapist taught me about the pursed lip breathing, and about the diaphragm, and I told her, "I already know about the diaphragm, cause i'm a singer, and that's how we used to breath, when we sang, right from the diaphragm, and she was BEARY impressed!

So, that's so cool, cause i'm still singing, wherever I go, like in the car, in the shower, at home, etc..
